You could be forgiven for wondering when I was going to write about Ebay and all that it entails. Right now I have a VIP gourmet guest, my son, staying for a while so food has been uppermost on my mind.
Last Sunday I planned an end of season trip to five 'vide-greniers' (empty attics) in an area nearby known as the 'Toscane D'Auvergne'. An area of gently rolling countryside, fields of vines and sunflowers dotted with medieval chateaux and hill forts.

The views are spectacular with the 'Puy de Dome' and the 'Chaine des Puys', extinct volcanoes, on the horizon.
It was one of those days when it just felt good to be alive.

There was so much loveliness to buy that I filled the car very quickly and only visited two of the intended five vide greniers in the end.
Sadly I had no room left when I found these bumptious pumpkins.
Luckily there was some shade behind the church but I still got sunburned.
There were some amazing things on display.
I could have bought this Leonardo Da Vinci for 10 Euros!
I did buy a collection of coffee pots from the late 1800's to the 1930's.
And a dozen of these dessert plates. I am going to enjoy creating a table setting with them.
And this large soup tureen that has lost its lid.
It has lovely details and dates from about 1810.
I am going to fill it with moss and white orchids.
I also bought lots of baskets for myself as they are so handy for keeping my sewing and other projects tidy. I did buy a great many bags and boxes of linens and other items for Ebay that I haven't even unpacked yet. They will be listed over the next few days, unless I decide to keep them that is.
