Wrong kind of mountain?

I bought a huge pile of linen sheets at a vide-grenier this morning. There were no bags to be had anywhere so I bought the laundry basket they were displayed in as well. It was large and very heavy with wooden bars attached to the base, it became even heavier when it began to rain, Oouf!

Now I'm home and the two washing machines are working hard again and I'm wondering if I can balance another basket on the ironing mountain.
The basket at the bottom came from a convent. Those nuns must have had muscles like bodybuilders. I can barely pick it up when it is empty.
And theres more!

Plus a room full of linens plus rolls of fabric waiting for that elusive spare time.
This space is actually the 'Jardin d'Hiver' a lovely space to over Winter the tender plants and also somewhere for a quiet coffee break. So it should look like this.
In my imagination Chatelaine-chic has orderly armoires full of linens tied with weighted satin ribbons. The reality is somewhat different. I just don't seem able to say no to linens.
Maybe it will be better when the 'sous-sol' is finished. There is going to be a huge laundry, plus an office/studio (for the pictures I am going to paint in my spare time)/sewing room (ditto soft furnishings). It is the extra floor of La Jovienne, at garden level, that you don't see from the front of the house. It has three wide cart entrances that have now been glazed. There are stunning views of Mont Chouvet. Right now it looks like this.................
I suppose one good thing about the rainy weather is that I can focus on the ironing mountain instead of the Monts du Forez!
I am going to tackle it this afternoon and photograph and list everything in the order that I find it. As a result you will find lots of antique French linens and other textiles on chatelaine-chic this week.
