I'd like to say that my bags are packed and I'm ready to go to Lyon but I'd be lying. I got the days wrong!
However that does give me an extra day to relax a bit before I leave AND put some addresses in the satnav.
I am so looking forward to this trip. I am going to buy stock but also to just enjoy the architecture
The food;
This is the famous Brasserie Georges, a stunning Art Deco building.
Then there are the antique shops.......
Where I decide what I would buy if I won the lottery, although I have recently had an email saying that Michael Jackson left me a considerable sum in his will, so once I have sent the cheque to his lawyers I should be quite wealthy!
I always try to visit a different museum, there are lots to choose from.
This laundry is the size of a shoebox in a museum of miniatures.
I am also going to a specialist linen sale.
Last year's trip was a bit of a disaster, I was incredibly ill, so didn't go anywhere else at all. I arrived at the sale feeling absolutely dreadful. It was windy, icy cold and raining, the special rain that can penetrate through to your bones.
When I arrived at the hall where the sale is normally held they told me that had moved it to another building quite a walk away and up some very steep stone steps.
I very nearly didn't go, then changed my mind. When I finally tottered in I was soaked through with chattering teeth and all I wanted to do was go home to bed. At that moment I discovered that I was the first, and for quite a while the only customer! I was able to sort through the tables of linens at my leisure. It was the sort of thing you dream about.
I wonder what surprises this trip will have in store?
Looking at these photos I realise that I have a bad habit of leaning to the right, it looks as if Lyon suffers from subsidence!

It also houses the set from the film 'Perfume'
