Winter has finally arrived

It was so warm and sunny a few days ago that it felt like Spring so I celebrated by replacing the Christmas hyacinths in my copper fish kettle with some dwarf narcissi.
I also planted lots of paperwhite bulbs for later. This year I put them in tall glass vases because they can be a tad droopy. I also put some of these amazing expanding balls in the base! They are incredible, a tiny sachet that fitted in my purse that expanded to about a litre in size overnight. When they are submerged in water you can't see them at all! Can you imagine them in a bath tub? especially if you didn't know they were there!
And this morning I came down to this................
The trees on Mont Chouvet are decorated with a thick rime of frost against a clear blue sky! It is the coldest day yet but incredibly beautiful.

My laundry has frozen stiff on the washing line.
Laundry is one of my major pre-occupations at the moment, as bookings for the Chambres D'hôtes come in the ironing is proving to be a bit of a challenge to say the least, especially as I launder so much of my stock as well.
So when In found this machine by a French company, Brandt, I was eager to see one in action.
Apparently it not only does your clothes but irons them too, using steam. Sounds too good to be true!
I tried to contact the company via their website.....after filling in all the details and carefully writing my message it told me that the system wasn't working.

I tried to phone them, this involved the inevitable button pressing at waiting (at my expense!) with a recorded voice advising me to contact them via the website. I persevered and eventually a disinterested person responded to my request to find a distributer and see the machine in person with a 'not possible'. They did eventually put me through to someone else who wouldn't speak to me without a reference number that I obviously didn't have. The third person I spoke to gave the the name of a potential stockist.

Repeat the above process ending with a salesperson telling me that if I would like to see one of these wonderful dryer/irons up close I have to order it!
I can't find any online reviews, maybe because no-one has been able to buy one yet so if anyone out there has one of these, or has even seen one! please do let me know what you think of it.

If it does work it could be a good investment for me and liberate a bit of time for my New Year Resolution. I bought this at the weekend which will be incredibly useful once I get started.

It still has nothing to do with food. Any ideas yet?
