Change is the only constant...............

The recent gales have brought my favourite tree down! It was a gingko and I was so  looking forward to the Autumn display but it wasn't to be.

Luckily I took some photographs of it last year that you can see here . It is all part of the complex life of the mountain that is constantly changing. Lots of new trees have been planted in the park and the fallen wood for the storms helps keep the log fires burning in Winter.

La Jovienne is changing too, the artisan arrived this morning. They are extending the verandah at the back of the house. It leads from the salon on what is the ground floor at the front of the house, but is actually the first floor at the back, overlooking the garden. It has wonderful views of the mountain and people naturally gravitate to it.

They have made great progress already, despite Phoebe demanding frequent cuddles and running off with screws and pencils at every opportunity. The other cats hate the noise and have gone off in a huff, but she just loves having people around.
