What's wrong with this picture?

This was taken on Saturday! It snowed all day and it is still cold, grey and damp.
Compare it with the lovely sunny weather that we had for just a couple of days last week. As soon as the sun appeared I was out! and I found these lovely flaky shutters....
I've been looking for two pairs to use as a bedhead for ages and these are perfect. There were three pairs and I bought them all, it would have been rude not to! I shall use the extra pair to display things on.
They are taller than me (okay that isn't difficult, but they are big) and made from oak that has silvered where the paint has flaked off.
I arranged them outside ready to clean them and remove some of the flakier bits.

Since then the weather has been unremittingly miserable!
The snow has now cleared but only because of the torrential rain. The top of the mountain is shrouded in mist and it is dark and gloomy. I need to find something to do or create that will cheer me up!

  2. Luuuve flaky shutters and in particular French flaky shutters - what a great find! Will you need to change the colour or just a clean and wax? The weather is certainly strange, we have had just the best autumn in Sydney, beautiful sunny days and great renovating weather. Bought a whole lot of pansies yesterday, so colourful, have filled a rocky sloping garden full with purple and cream pansies.

    Best wishes LuvL.

  3. Just found your comments! must have disabled the alerts :-o The colour of the shutters is perfect so a clean and wax should do it. STILL cold and wet here, I am craving sunshine, but at least it doesn't feel as if I'm missing anything while I do the tax returns. X
