Living the Dream, things I would never have guessed...............

Things are hotting up in the run up to the local elections, meetings, paperwork, publicity, door knocking, envelope stuffing (often with cakes or aperos of course).............and I am loving it.
I am so impressed because it really is democratic, it seems to engage everyone and it affects their lives directly. It seems so different to the apathy that I often encountered in the UK.
The team 'Vivre à Job' that I am part of is apolitical, not bound by the constraints of any political affiliation, just a desire to do our very best for this extraordinary village and steer it safely into the future.
The budget is impressive and the Maire and his team are able to set local taxes and initiate important projects at a much higher level than I had anticipated.
It has been a steep learning curve for me.
Whatever the outcome on the 23rd, I am delighted to be part of such a talented group of people and to work alongside them to create a coherent, inspirational and inclusive set of policies for the management of Job over the next five years.
You won't be surprised to hear that I have been sleeping well, my eyes closing as soon as my head hits the pillow.

I have still been getting up at the crack of dawn to travel over the mountains buying stock and the warm sunny days have meant rich pickings. More about that in my next post.

A bientôt.
